Starting in New Austin today folks..
We’ll start in Tumbleweed for the challenges today. We can visit the Gunsmith, then go into the desert to hunt and pick Thyme. Let’s get into it…
Weapons Customise
Tumbleweed is the Fast Travel post we will start from today. Visit the Gunsmith in the town and customise one of your weapons. If you switch out the wrap on one of your guns for a cloth wrap that will count towards the challenge and not cost you anything.
Creeping Thyme
Head down the hill south out of Tumbleweed. Between the ‘E’ and the ‘W’ of the word new on the map there are five patches of Creeping Thyme. A couple of the patches are a little above the letters but there is plenty around here to get five plants from.
Hunting
This area of Desert also has Rams.The area between Tumbleweed, Gaptooth Breach. Scratching Post and Benedict Point. Has them scattered around. If you search you will find them without too much trouble. You can get pork from Collared Peccary if you need some. They can be found on the ridge above Benedict Point, up near Fort Mercer or in Cholla Springs. Use the campfire next to Gus or the one at Solomon’s Folly to season and cook the meat.
Finishing off
Ride over to James Langton to do some Capitale missions to collect the notes. That should get you up to your distance traveled on a mount. Then it’s into a Showdown to get the kills from the Hip. That’ll do it for today…

CAPITALE NOTES COLLECTED – Speak with Joe, James Langton or Anthony Freeman and start up a Blood Money mission. Loot enemies and keep an eye out for Capitale on the missions.
3 COOKED SEASONED PORK – Pork can be got from Pigs and Boar. Both are common in the wild all over the map, especially at night. Boar can often be found in Bluewater Marsh & Scarlett meadows. For Pigs try Cholla Springs. Then head to a fire, season up that pork and cook it up.
5 CREEPING THYME PICKED – Creeping Thyme grows in thin soil near river banks or in sandy soil the Desert south of Tumbleweed is my go to spot.
DISTANCE TRAVELED ON MOUNT – Simply ride your horse the required distance. Easy Gold!
PLAYER KILLS FROM THE HIP IN SHOWDOWNS – Kill a player with a firearm without aiming down the sights. Paint it black and a shotgun make this an easy challenge if you can overcome that muscle memory!
2 RAMS SKINNED – There are 3 types of Rams, Desert, Rocky Mountain and Sierra Nevada. They can be found in Gaptooth Ridge, NA, Grizzlies East & West, AM, and Big Valley, WE respectively.
1 WEAPON CUSTOMISED – Head to a gun smith and if you have already purchased a wrap for one of your guns, simply remove it and replace it. Easy Gold!
