Starting in New Austin today folks..
We’ll start in Tumbleweed for the challenges today. We can visit the stables then go to get the Desert Sage and the Blackcurrants. Let’s get into it…
Horse Appearance
Tumbleweed is the Fast Travel post we will start from today. Visit the stables just on the edge of town and change the appearance of one of your horses. You can use one of the horses you don’t use very often and just change the mane or tail to wild. This is free to do and still gets you the gold.
Desert Sage and Blackcurrants
Head south down the hill from the stables. Just to the north of the letter ‘E’ in the word New on the map there are three patches of Blackcurrants. You should be able to get all five plants picked from here. Just to the west of here, across the road that leads towards Gaptooth Breach there are a couple of patches of Desert Sage. If you’re lucky you’ll get all five plants picked here. If not, head along the road to the west and you will find a few more patches as the road bends south.
Bears Killed
Head back into Tumbleweed and use the fast travel post to travel to Manzanita Post. Ride south to Bear Claw and you’ll find a Grizzly. Shoot and kill it to complete the challenge.
Finishing off
Get the animal knife kills. The turkeys in Tall Trees are easy sport, then complete a telegram mission. Then head into a Showdown with your pistols. That’ll do it for today…

5 ANIMALS KILLED WITH A KNIFE – You can mercy kill wounded animals with your knife, rope them and kill them with your knife, or just find small, slow animals, equip your knife and use melee to kill them. Toads, Turkeys and Chickens are good targets.
1 BEARS KILLED – Bears can be found in several locations, West of Wallice station is a good spot. So is the Southern end of Tall Trees. Find one and kill it.
5 BLACKCURRANTS PICKED – Blackcurrants can be picked from tall thin bushes in the deserts between Tumbleweed and Benedict Point. If you’re struggling then try just to the east of the ‘E’ in ‘New Austin’ on the map
5 DESERT SAGE PICKED – Desert Sage grows in New Austin. If you head South out of Tumbleweed, there is a spot at the crossroads where you can get all 5. It’s just to the left of the ‘E’ in New Austin on the map.
1 HORSE APPEARANCE UPDATED – Head to a stables and change the appearance of your horse by changing the tail or main for example
3 PLAYER KILLS WITH A PISTOL IN SHOWDOWNS – Load up a showdown, use your pistols to kill three players. Just remember, Revolvers don’t count as pistols.
1 TELEGRAM MISSIONS COMPLETED – Telegram missions can be started from your satchel. Go into the documents menu and open the Telegrams. You can then select which mission to do.
