Starting in New Hanover today folks..
We’ll start at Emerald Station for the challenges today. We can get the carrots and the sheep before heading to New Austin to hunt. Let’s get into it…
Wild Carrots
Start at Emerald Station. There are Wild Carrots under the word Emerald Station on the map. Check directly under the ‘N’ and a little under the first ‘T’ of Station. That should be enough to get all five plants picked but if you need more then there are some a little further south.
Sheep
There are sheep at Emerald Ranch. Wait until nightfall, rope and kill them with your knife to avoid alerting the locals and getting the law involved. You need to skin three sheep to complete the challenge.
Collared Peccaries
Fast Travel to Tumbleweed. Ride out of town into Cholla Springs. There are plenty of Peccaries here. Check to the north of Ridgeword Farm. There is usually a herd of peccaries there. You only need to shoot and skin one to complete the challenge.
Crafting
Make sure you have enough herbs for crafting a tonic and a horse care item then head to a campfire .The nearest ones are either Fort Mercer or Solomon’s Folly south west of Benedict Point. Use the campfire to craft a tonic and a horse tonic.
Finishing off
Head into aShootout Showdown with your rifle. Get the rifle kills and play a Shootout from lobby to lobby. That’ll do it for today…

1 COLLARED PECCARIES SKINNED – Collared Peccaries are native to New Austin. My go to spot is just north of Ridgewood Farm, under ‘Cholla Springs’ on the map
CRAFTED A TONIC – Tonics can be crafted at camp fires. Potent health care needs 1x Ginseng and 1xYarrow. Potent Snake oil only needs 1x Indian Tobacco. Collect what you need, head to a fire and craft the tonic
1 CRAFTED A HORSE CARE ITEM – Potent Horse Stimulant and Potent Horse Medicine can be crafted at a campfire, along with any other recipes you have unlocked. Bulrush and either Sage or Ginseng are needed for these so collect them before heading to a fire.
FINISH SHOWDOWN IN SHOOTOUT SERIES – Load into a Shootout series PvP match*from either the main or quick join menu. You’ll probably have to go lobby to lobby on this to get it to register.
3 PLAYER KILLS WITH A RIFLE IN SHOWDOWNS- Make sure you have your rifle equipped before you join a Showdown match and then use it to kill 3 players. You will have to be in the lobby before the match starts for the kills to count
3 SHEEP SKINNED – Emerald Ranch is the easiest place for sheep. Wait for night to avoid the law and kill and skin the sheep from the pens. if they’re not there, just change lobbies until they are.
5 WILD CARROTS PICKED – Wild Carrots can be found all over the map. If you are really struggling to find them, all 5 can be found just south of Blackwater between the road and the lake.
