Starting in New Austin today folks..
We’ll start in Armadillo for the challenges today. We’ll get the Red Sage out of the way then travel to Blackwater and tackle the rest from there. Let’s get into it…
Red Sage
Start in Armadillo. Ride south out of town past the broken down Wagon. There is some red sage on the opposite side of the road. Continue a little further and there is a large rock on your right hand side. Behind the rock there is more Red sage. Plenty of opportunity to get all five for the challenge.
Complimentary Snacks
Travel to Blackwater. The saloon here has almonds on the right hand side of the bar, round near the bath house. Eat three helpings to complete the challenge.
Loons
Loons can be found along the Upper Montana River. Follow it all the way up to Owanjila if need be. There are more loons around the lake too. You should get one before you reach Owanjila though. Shoot and skin one to complete the challenge.
Violet Snowdrops
There is a patch of Violet Snowdrops a little way below the first ‘R’ in the word Strawberry on the map. There is another patch between the ‘E’ and the ‘R’ too. This should get you all five but if not, there is another patch next to Hawk’s Eye Creek, directly above the ‘W’ in Strawberry.
Pork
There are plenty of wild boar in this same area too. If you need some pork, hunt them and get some before heading to Fort Riggs. There is a campfire here you can use to season and cook the pork.
Finishing off
Start a mission and get NPC kills from range. My favourite for this is revenue agents at a roadblock. That just leaves the Hunt the Leader to finish. That’ll do it for today…

3 COMPLIMENTARY SNACKS EATEN AT A SALOON – Snacks such as Almonds can be found on the bar at some saloons like the main one in Valentine and the saloon in Rhodes. The snacks in the bar at your Moonshine shack also count! Free snacks AND free Gold!
3 COOKED SEASONED PORK – Pork can be got from Pigs and Boar. Both are common in the wild all over the map, especially at night. Boar can often be found in Bluewater Marsh & Scarlett meadows. For Pigs try Cholla Springs. Then head to a fire, season up that pork and cook it up.
1 HUNT THE LEADER COMPLETED – Hunt the leader is a Posse Vs. Start or join a Posse with more than one member and have the leader start the match.
1 LOONS SKINNED – Loons can be found along the rivers of West Elizabeth, New Hanover and Bayou NWA in Lemoyne. The islands on the west of Flat Iron Lake are a good place to look too.
5 NON-PLAYER ENEMIES KILLED AT LONG RANGE – Revenue Agents, Trader Resupply NPCs and Del Lobos are good for this. Pick a spot at range and pick them off. A scoped rifle will help. You can tell if they count as distance kills as an XP award notification pops up.
5 RED SAGE PICKED – Red sage can be found in New Austin. North of Fort Mercer is a good spot or try by the side of the main road south out of Armadillo
5 VIOLET SNOWDROP PICKED – I go to the glade under the “WALLACE” of Wallace station for mine. Just watch out for the bear! The banks of the Dakota River North of Cumberland falls and Cumberland Forest are good spots too.
