Starting in New Austin today folks..
We’re starting in Tumbleweed for today’s daily challenges. We’ll visit the stables, hunt iguanas and fish before heading to Cumberland Forest for Rams Heads. Let’s Get into it…
Horse Appearance Updated
Start in Tumbleweed. Visit the stables and update the appearance of one of your horses. You can usually change the mane or tail to a wild one for free.
English Mace, Iguanas and Bluegills
Ride south out of Tumbleweed towards Scratching Post. There are a couple of patches of English Mace near the island. If you look on the map, the area between the western most tip of the island and the path has two patches. Pick five plants from these two. The island on the river also has Iguanas on it. There are Bluegills in the river here too. Shoot the iguanas and skin them then head east along the river a little bit until you see the Bluegills.Cheese on the Bobber is the best tactic.
Bears and Ram’s Head
Fast travel to Valentine and then ride up to Cumberland Forest. There are a couple of patches of Ram’s Heads below the ‘C’ and on the ‘M’ of the word Cumberland on the map. Pick five plants from these three spots.
There is sometimes a bear in the north east of the forest, and sometimes one at Moonstone Pond. There are also Bears near Cattail Pond and near Wallace Station. Personally I like to head to the one near Harriet at Wallace Station as it seems to spawn regularly.
Finishing off
Load into a Showdown and play a match from lobby to lobby. That will do it for today…

1 BEARS KILLED – Bears can be found in several locations, West of Wallice station is a good spot. So is the Southern end of Tall Trees. Find one and kill it.
5 BLUEGILL CAUGHT – Bluegill can be found in lakes and rivers all over the map. Cheese is the best bait to catch them with. They like open water and are more active when it’s raining.
5 ENGLISH MACE PICKED – English Mace grows near the banks of the San Luis River. You can pick it up from Thieves Landing down through New Austin. Above ‘Plainview’ on the map is a good spot.
1 FINISH A SHOWDOWN IN ANY SHOWDOWN SERIES – Load into a Showdown match from either the main or quick join menu. Play the match through to the end. You may have to go lobby to lobby to get this to register. Shootout or Takeover series work best.
1 HORSE APPEARANCE UPDATED – Head to a stables and change the appearance of your horse by changing the tail or main for example
2 IGUANAS SKINNED – Iguanas can be found in the deserts of New Austin. My go to spot is the little island in the river near Scratching Post, south of Tumbleweed. There are three that regularly spawn there. The islands on Flat Iron lake west of Rhodes also have Green Iguanas
5 RAM’s HEAD PICKED – Ram’s head can be found in Cumberland forest. Check along the cliffs to the west of the forest.
