Starting in New Hanover today folks..
We’re starting in Van Horn for today’s challenges. We’ll hunt some Beavers, do some fishing and then crafting. Let’s Get into it…
Beaver Hunting and Fishing
Starting in Vanhorn. Head West to the stretch of the Kamassa river between Butchers Creek and Fort Brennand. There are Beavers here and also salmon. Hunt the beavers and catch enough salmon to break down for succulent fish meat.
Cooked Succulent Fish and Horse Tonics
Head back to Van Horn and use the campfire behind the saloon in Van Horn. Break down the salmon you caught earlier and use the fire to season and cook it. Craft the horse tonic too whilst you are here.
James Langton and Pat a Dog
Fast Travel to Armadillo. There is sometimes a dog near the Undertaker. Pat the dog then head to James Langton. He’ll be in the shack next to Lake Don Julio. Speak with him and complete the mission he gives you.
Finishing off
Use the horse menu to put a mask on if you have one or visit the shop in Tumbleweed and use the wardrobe to equip one. If you still need a dog to pet then there is your camp dong or one near the stables in Tumbleweed. That just leaves the headshots in Free Roam Events.That will do it for today…

3 BEAVERS SKINNED – Beavers can be found on the Kamassa river to the west of Van Horn, between Elysian pool and Fort Brennand. Shoot and skin three of them.
COOKED SEASONED SUCCULENT FISH – Succulent fish meat is got from breaking down trout or salmon. Try the channel between the island and the shore South of Scratching post, New Austin for Trout. The pool below Cumberland Falls is a good spot for Salmon. Catch em, break em down, season em up and cook em!
1 CRAFTED A HORSE CARE ITEM – Potent Horse Stimulant and Potent Horse Medicine can be crafted at a campfire, along with any other recipes you have unlocked. Bulrush and either Sage or Ginseng are needed for these so collect them before heading to a fire.
1 JAMES LANGTON MISSIONS COMPLETED – This stranger mission can be started by going to the cabin on Lake Don Julio in Rio Bravo, New Austin. Start the mission and take out the targets to complete the challenge.
1 MASKS WORN – You will need to have purchased a mask from Madam Nazar when they were available. Once you have one equip it by visiting a wardrobe or by using the item wheel on your horse. Some people have reported success with a Bandana, so try that.
PETTED A DOG – My favorite challenge ever! Find a dog, pet it. Don’t listen to Cripps. There’s a dog in Tumbleweed near the Stables. There are a couple in Thieves Landing. You can also pet your camp dog if you have one.
3 PLAYER HEADSHOT KILLS IN FREE ROAM EVENTS – Free Roam Events occur every 45mins. Make sure you are in a free roam lobby when one is due to start to be invited. Join an event and kill other players with headshots.
