Starting in New Austin today folks..
We’re starting in Rio Bravo for today’s challenges. We’ll start at Lake Don Julio, pick the English Mace, Speak to James then go find some Yarrow. Let’s Get into it…
English Mace
To the west of Lake Don Julio are two buildings. Next to the building to the north of the road are two patches of English Mace. That should be enough to get the five plants needed for the challenge. If it isn’t there is another patch between here and the lake..
James Langton
James is one of the strangers. He can be found in a cabin next to Lake Don Julio. Go and speak with him and complete the mission he gives you.
Yarrow
Travel up to Valentine and then cross the railway behind the station. There are three patches of Yarrow here. That is plenty enough to complete the challenge.
Rabbits
Black-Tailed Jackrabbits can be found almost anywhere. Whilst doing the other challenges keep an eye out for them. If you haven’t got them, then drop down to the Dakota River and you’ll find some.
Finishing off
Use the campfire near the butcher in Valentine to cook some provisions. Photograph your horse then grab your Bow and head into a Showdown. That will do it for today…

3 BLACK-TAILED RABBITS SKINNED – Keep your eyes open for black-tail rabbits. They can be found most places around the map. Kill 3, skin them. Easy gold!
5 ENGLISH MACE PICKED – English Mace grows near the banks of the San Luis River. You can pick it up from Thieves Landing down through New Austin. Above ‘Plainview’ on the map is a good spot.
1 JAMES LANGTON MISSIONS COMPLETED – This stranger mission can be started by going to the cabin on Lake Don Julio in Rio Bravo, New Austin. Start the mission and take out the targets to complete the challenge.
1 PHOTOGRAPH YOUR HORSE – Get your camera (the original works fine) out and take a snap of your equine companion. You may have to be a few steps back and have the horse centre frame to get it to register.
PLAYER HEADSHOT WITH A BOW IN SHOWDOWN – Equip your Bow and join a Showdown series. Shootouts or Takeovers seem to work best. Make sure your in the lobby before the game starts for the challenge to register. It may take a few tries to get this one to work.
5 PROVISIONS COOKED AT CAMPFIRE – Find a fire, cook anything from the “provisions” tab on the craft/cook menu. This one is easy gold!
5 YARROW PICKED – My go to spot is just south of Valentine around Caliban’s seat. There are several groups around here.
