Starting in Lemoyne today folks..

We’re starting in Rhodes for today’s challenges. We’ll visit the gunsmith before heading out to pick the thyme and fish for Longnose Gar. Then it’s a trip to the barbers before going on a Moose hunt. Let’s get into it…

Rhodes

Visit the Gunsmith in Rhodes and customise a weapon. You can change the colour of cloth wraps for free and that counts towards the challenge. Next, ride west out of town towards the big red building on the railway line. There are two patches of Thyme near the building. Pick five of them to complete the challenge.

Longnose Gar

Head east from here into Bayou Nwa. We are heading for the boot shaped pond just over the Kamassa river. Get your fishing rod out and attach your swamp lure. Use dead eye to target a Longnose Gar. They have a distinctive shape. Keep this and stow it on your horse as the money can go towards fast travel and hairstyles.

Hairstyle Updated

Head into Saint Denis and visit the barbers here to update your hairstyle. If you have used gold to purchase your current style I would suggest skipping this one as it will cost you more gold to get it back than you earn from the challenge.

Moose Hunt

Sell your Longnose Gar at the butcher then use the fast travel post to travel to Annesburg. Ride up to Brandywine Drop and hunt for a Moose. They are fairly common around here. I usually get one having a drink in the river, but if that fails there are usually some in the trees just to the west of where the railway crosses the water.

Finishing Off

That’s it for the free roam lobby challenges so it’s into a story mission and then a showdown with your shotgun. That will do it for today…

5 CREEPING THYME PICKED – Creeping Thyme grows in thin soil near river banks or in sandy soil the Desert south of Tumbleweed is my go to spot.

1 HAIRSTYLE UPDATED – Visit a barber and update your hairstyle. If you like your current style, make sure you remember the name of it and switch back!

1 LONGNOSE GAR CAUGHT – Head to Lemoyne, The pond between ‘Kamassa River’ and ‘Bayou’ on the map has them in. The Swamp Lure is best and they are supposedly more active in overcast conditions.

1 MOOSE SKINNED – Brandywine Drop, Tall Trees, Owanjila and Aurra Basin are all good spots to look for Moose. Find one. Shoot it and skin it.

3 PLAYER KILLS WITH A SHOTGUN IN SHOWDOWN – Equip your shotgun then join a Showdown. Weapon of choice is good if you don’t own a shotgun yet. Takeover or Shootout series are most reliable for registering kills. You will need to be in the lobby beforehand for the kills to count‬

1 STORY MISSION COMPLETED – Load in to a story mission either from the main menu or from the progress menu to replay your favourite mission.

1 WEAPON CUSTOMISED – Head to a gun smith and if you have already purchased a wrap for one of your guns, simply remove it and replace it. Easy Gold!
