Starting in New Hanover today folks..

Valentine is a good base today. Cumberland Forest has lots of deer you can hunt to get venison. Ram’s Head can also be found in the forest. There are two patches of Ram’s Head under the ‘C’ of Cumberland Forest on the map. That should be enough to get you all five plants for the challenge, but if it’s not then there is another patch North of the ‘U’ on the map. Just use Dead Eye and look for them, they are in a cluster of other plants.

The road that runs east to west at the bottom of the forest, just above the ‘F’ has an ambush. A person will call for help then when you stop to help you will be ambushed. Whilst clearing the ambush, lasso the enemies whilst on your horse. You can save the last enemy and repeatedly lasso him. Just wait a few seconds between and it will usually register towards the challenge.

Once the ambush is clear and you have the plants and the venison then head back into valentine. Use the campfire by the butcher to cook the venison. If you have coffee on you, brew it and drink it whilst you are here. You can purchase some from the shop in town if you don’t have any. There is also free coffee in your moonshine shack if you have one.

Just to the North of the butcher is Chadwick Farm There is a sheep pen there but it’s not always reliable. It’s certainly worth checking though. The pens in the livestock auction and next to the railway station are also worth checking for sheep. If you can’t find them here then Emerald Ranch has two sheep pens. If you wait until after nightfall, you’re less likely to attract the law. Wherever you manage to find them, skin three of them for the challenge.

Once that’s done it times to equip your bow and head into a showdown. Getting a headshot kill with the bow will complete the last challenge for the day.

3 COOKED SEASONED VENISON – Deer give Venison when skinned. Pronghorns and White Tails are fairly common all over the map. Just find em, shoot em, skin em and head over to a fire to season them up and cook. If your struggling to find them, try in The Heartlands and or New Austin

3 CUPS OF COFFEE DRUNK – Coffee can be looted or bought from the store. Head to a fire to brew it and then drink! If you’re anything like me, you need 3 cups in the morning just to get going

5 NON-PLAYER ENEMIES LASSOED FROM HORSEBACK – Lasso NPCs whilst sat on your horse. I find this easiest to do during resupply missions or camp defences. Gold Health Core’s help as you get shot a lot. The Lawmen in Saint Denis count too.

PLAYER HEADSHOT WITH A BOW IN SHOWDOWN – Equip your Bow and join a Showdown series. Shootouts or Takeovers seem to work best. Make sure your in the lobby before the game starts for the challenge to register. It may take a few tries to get this one to work.

5 RAM’s HEAD PICKED – Ram’s head can be found in Cumberland forest. Check along the cliffs to the west of the forest.

3 SHEEP SKINNED – Emerald Ranch is the easiest place for sheep. Wait for night to avoid the law and kill and skin the sheep from the pens. if they’re not there, just change lobbies until they are.

1 SUCCESSFULLY FENDED OFF AN AMBUSH – Ambushes happen randomly at certain points around the map. Ride past a spot and hope it triggers. Check out the excellent work of u/thirdlegacy red_dead_online_event_map_ver2
