Quick Guide
Starting in New Austin today folks..
We’re in New Austin for two things, Iguanas and Red Sage. Both can be found near Armadillo. Ride south of town towards Mercer station. There is a fork in the road where it veers west towards Mercer station with a large rock on your right. There are Red sage plants around that rock. There are also some on the other side of the road, plenty enough to get the challenge done. The desert to the north west of this spot has plenty of Iguanas in. Get two of them skinned then head back to Armadillo. If you need to collect a treasure map then there is one that can be found north of Armadillo near Hanging Rock. If you already have a map in your satchel though, I would suggest completing that rather than searching for one in free roam.
Fast travel out of Armadillo to Valentine. Visit the gunsmith to customise a weapon. Changing cloth wrap colours counts towards this and if you already own more than one colour then this will be free for you. You can also switch between cloth and leather wraps to get this one to pop. Head to the saloon for some free snacks then ride out of town towards the oil fields. There are three spots to check for Oxen in this area. One is just to the north of the eatern end of the tunnel near the Oil Fields. There is another on the small farm just near Heartland Overflow and the third is at Emerald Ranch. Hopefully you manage to get two from these three spots. All that’s left to do today then is to complete a treasure map and then jump into a showdown. Good Luck out there!
3 COMPLIMENTARY SNACKS EATEN AT A SALOON – Snacks such as Almonds can be found on the bar at some saloons like the main one in Valentine and the saloon in Rhodes. The snacks in the bar at your Moonshine shack also count! Free snacks AND free Gold!
2 IGUANAS SKINNED – Iguanas can be found in the deserts of New Austin. My go to spot is the little island in the river near Scratching Post, south of Tumbleweed. There are three that regularly spawn there. The islands on Flat Iron lake west of Rhodes also have Green Iguanas
2 OXEN SKINNED – You can find one Oxen at Guthrie farm, the little hamlet just below Heartland Overflow. Switch sessions to get both, or try the hamlet above Heartland Oil Fields
3 PLAYER KILLS IN DEAD EYE IN SHOWDOWNS – Whilst playing in a showdown series, kill players whilst in dead eye. I’ve found the “shootout” series to be most consistent when getting these kills to count.
5 RED SAGE PICKED – Red sage can be found in New Austin. North of Fort Mercer is a good spot or try by the side of the main road south out of Armadillo
1 TREASURE MAPS OR TREASURES FOUND – Treasure Maps can be found at variouse locations around the map, usually pinned to a tree. Find a map or if you already have one, use it and follow it to the treasure.
1 WEAPON CUSTOMISED – Head to a gun smith and if you have already purchased a wrap for one of your guns, simply remove it and replace it. Easy Gold!
